ADAM

★★★★★ "An unforgettable thunderbolt of feeling" The Telegraph
If you are born in a country where being yourself can get you killed, exile is your only choice.

Adam is the remarkable, true story of a young trans man having to make that choice and begin his journey. From Egypt to Scotland, it charts Adam’s fight across borders and genders to find a place to call home.

Adam returns to the stage following a phenomenally successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 and subsequent tour. In a world first, Adam features an international digital choir of trans individuals from across the globe which has been uniquely integrated into this remarkable multimedia production.

Presented by the National Theatre of Scotland.

JANIS CLAXTON
The whole team on Adam was devastated by the news that the choreographer Janis Claxton, the production’s movement director, tragically died after a short but fierce battle with cancer in 2018. The opening night at Battersea Arts Centre was dedicated to her. Her memory lives on with us and in the beautiful work she created in Adam and through all her groundbreaking dance work.
